PSA: My new paint color app totally ignored my room's lighting

Picked a shade that looked great on screen but turned out muddy in real life. Now I have to repaint, and the app has no way to factor in natural light, lol.

Have you checked if your phone's screen brightness was turned way up? That can really trick you. Finley_coleman73 is right about real samples, but even those can be off. The real issue is that light bulbs and sunlight change a color more than any screen can show. You need to see the paint on the wall at different times of day. An app can give you ideas, but it can't replace looking at the actual paint in your own room.

I always test real paint samples first for that exact reason.

Ever make a huge paint sample mistake? I picked one once that looked gray online and it turned out full-on baby blue on the wall.
