My bank app's 'security check' made me miss a rent payment
I was trying to pay my landlord through my bank's mobile app last Friday. The app made me do a new 'enhanced security' step where I had to get a code from my email, then type it in, then confirm the amount again. The whole thing took over three minutes and the session timed out halfway through. I had to start over, and by the time I got through it the second time, the cutoff for same-day processing had passed. My payment was late, and I got a fee. This 'security' feature created a real problem it was supposed to prevent. Has anyone else had an app's safety steps cause more trouble than they're worth?

Enhanced security" that makes you miss rent is just bad design.

My old credit union had a similar system that locked you out for 24 hours after two failed login attempts. I got locked out right before a car payment because I fat-fingered my password. Their "security" literally caused the late fee it was supposed to protect against.
