That barista in Portland fixed my logo with a napkin and a red pen

She drew a simpler coffee cup mark in 30 seconds and said "your shape is fighting itself," so I redid my whole brand around negative space and now I ask strangers for logo opinions before I pay anyone.

Three weeks ago I paid $800 for a logo that looked like a sad geometric jellyfish, and a teenager at a bus stop told me it reminded him of a broken umbrella. He was right. Now I carry a napkin and a red pen everywhere like some kind of design emergency kit. The worst part is my own handwriting is so bad that strangers usually just squint and say "that's... nice" before walking away faster. But honestly, asking random people has saved me more money than any agency ever did. My last logo came from a guy who sold hot dogs on the corner, and it's the only one anyone ever compliments.
