My kerning was off for 8 years, a bus sign in Austin made me see it

I always thought my logos looked fine until I saw this bus wrap where the letters were so tight they almost touched. Something clicked, I went back to my last 30 client files and spotted the same spacing problem in like 25 of them. Turns out I was eyeballing kerning instead of using the optical setting in my design software. A friend who does print work pointed it out after I showed him my portfolio. Has anyone else had a random sign or billboard trigger a total redesign of their past work?
