Found a stupid simple grid trick after decades of guessing

I spent 20 years eyeballing spacing on my construction company logos until I tried a 12-column grid layout last Tuesday. Has anyone else wasted that much time before finding a basic tool that was right in front of them?

I switched to a 12 column grid for my client work maybe 3 years ago and it was like putting on glasses for the first time. I felt stupid for not trying it sooner.
