Walked into a client's office in Nashville and saw our campaign mocked up on a bulletin board

I was there for a quarterly review and noticed one of our print ads pinned up with handwritten notes all over it. The client's intern had scribbled things like 'too much text' and 'boring headline' in the margins. It was a real gut check, but honestly she had some good points. Has anyone else ever caught a glimpse of how your work is actually being judged behind your back?

Did you read that study about how people only spend like 7 seconds looking at a print ad before deciding if it's worth their time? Sounds like that intern was doing some real-world usability testing that probably saved your campaign from being ignored lol. It's tough getting honest feedback like that but it's way better than having a client tell you everything's fine only to see the work flop.

Yeah but that 7 seconds thing is actually for digital ads, not print.
