Unpopular opinion: hiring for culture fit is overrated for small agencies

Had a designer in Austin who was a perfect culture fit, everyone loved him at lunch, but he took 6 weeks to finish a landing page that should've taken 2. I finally realized I was prioritizing vibes over output and switched to a contract dev who was a total jerk but shipped in 4 days. Why are we so hung up on culture fit when the client deadline is what actually pays the bills?
