Threw $2,000 at a fancy CRM system and it tanked our workflow for 3 months

I signed up for a high-end CRM last January, thinking it would solve all our client tracking problems. The onboarding took two weeks of training that none of my three employees had time for. After 90 days, we had only entered about 40 clients into it because the interface was so confusing. My office manager finally said she dreaded logging in every morning. I canceled it last month and went back to a shared Google Sheet that works fine. Has anyone else burned cash on a tool that made things worse instead of better?

Her "dreaded logging in" line really hit home for me.

The "dreaded logging in" part is real. There's this weird gut punch when you open the app and see the screen asking for your password. You know once you're in, you're going to see something that makes you feel tired or disappointed. For me it's the moment I log into my community board and see 15 unread notifications. I know half of them are arguing about something dumb. @theabennett put it perfectly, it's not about the login itself, it's about what comes after.
