The day I fired a $6k monthly retainer for a flat fee setup
Three years ago in Denver, I took on a food delivery app as a client. They wanted ongoing ads management, but after last month's audit, I realized we were just doing the same optimizations on repeat. I told them to pay me a $3,500 flat rate to fix their tracking and set up automated rules, then walk away. They were stunned, but I'd rather take a short-term hit than bill for busywork. Has anyone else ditched recurring revenue for a one-time project that actually solved the root issue?
