That client call from a hotel lobby that turned into a disaster

Ngl, I was in a Marriott lobby in Denver last fall trying to close a $12k retainer deal over Zoom and my laptop froze mid sentence. The client looked at me like I was faking it. Ended up driving 20 minutes to a Starbucks, bought their overpriced wifi, and salvaged the call with 3 bars of shaky connection. Has anyone else had their work laptop totally betray them at the worst moment?

That exact same thing happened to me last spring in a Hilton lobby. Nightmare.

laptop froze mid sentence like that's some kind of disaster? Bruh you had a backup plan and still closed the deal. I've had actual emergencies where my whole van's A/C seized up in July with a full service call list. That's a disaster. You just had a minor tech hiccup that you solved in under an hour. Plus hotels always have business centers with computers you could've used if you really needed to. Feels like we're calling any little inconvenience a crisis these days.
