Found out my old agency billed clients for 'strategy' at $275/hr and nobody ever asked what it was
Honestly I was digging through some old files from my first agency job back in 2019 and found a rate sheet I never saw as a junior. Turns out we billed one client $275 an hour for 'strategic alignment sessions' which was really just two account managers talking in a conference room for 90 minutes. The client paid it for almost 8 months before they even questioned it. Ngl it made me rethink how I price my own retainers now, but I still can't tell if that place was genius or just lucky. Has anyone here ever looked back at an old shop and found out the margins were way weirder than you thought?
