Accidentally sent a client proposal to the wrong John, chaos in Dallas

Last Tuesday I was juggling two proposals for clients both named John, one in HVAC and one in e-commerce. I CC'd the wrong one and the HVAC guy replied all with 'glad you finally got my logo straight' while the e-commerce dude saw his pricing leak. I had to do a mass retraction email, offer both a 10% discount, and now I use a nickname system in my CRM like 'John-B' and 'John-H'. Anyone else ever mix up clients with similar names and how did you recover without looking like a total clown?

Buddy of mine once sent a wedding invoice to his client who was also the best man, and the groom saw the full breakdown before the big day. He ended up calling it a "gift planning spreadsheet" and refunded the whole thing just to kill the awkwardness.
