A client told me my proposals were too wordy. Here's what I cut.

Last month a client sent back my 12 page proposal and said they stopped reading after page 3. They told me straight up 'I don't need your entire life story, just the price and the timeline.' So I stripped it down to 5 pages max, cut all the fluff about our process, and put the budget right on page 1. I've closed 3 deals in 2 weeks since making that change. Has anyone else gotten feedback like this and actually listened?

Wow, that's a great lesson. It's like people are so overloaded with information these days they just want you to cut to the chase. Honestly I see it everywhere now, not just in business but in how folks talk to each other even at the grocery store.

Betty, you're so right. I swear last week I was at the grocery store and a lady gave me her whole life story before asking where the ketchup was. Guess I'm the one who needs the lesson, huh? Ever catch yourself rambling and just wish someone would hand you a stop sign?
