After three hotels in a row with self-check-in, I'm done with the impersonal approach.

I believe the loss of human interaction at check-in ruins the hospitality experience.

Ugh, that reminds me of my bank. They got rid of all the tellers and put in these giant screens. You just stand there talking to a camera while someone in another state helps you. It feels so cold and weird, like you're in some low-budget sci-fi movie. There's no one to just ask a quick, friendly question. It honestly makes the whole place feel kind of dead inside.
