Warning: Spotting the ISS from my backyard was jarring | Space Exploration

I was taking out the trash after dark and saw this steady light moving fast. Checked an app, it was the space station. The idea that humans built that thing orbiting Earth hit me hard. Has spotting satellites or the ISS ever made you stop and think? Tell me your stories.

We get so wrapped up in our daily stuff that we forget to look up. Seeing the ISS is a sharp reminder of the huge world beyond our problems. It's like those rare moments when something man-made or natural cuts through the noise and makes you pause. What everyday thing has suddenly amazed you lately?

Used to think space was boring, now it hits different.

Man, that hits home. I see satellites all the time from the road at night, just little dots gliding past the stars. But the ISS is different, knowing folks are living up there right that second. It makes everything feel really small and really big at the same time. That thing is a house flying over us at thousands of miles an hour. It’s proof we can still do some pretty wild stuff together when we try.
