A raccoon decided my worksite was its new home yesterday
I was tearing off old shingles on a two-story house when I spotted movement near the chimney. A full-grown raccoon had pushed through a broken vent cover and was just sitting there, looking at me like I was the intruder. I yelled for my helper, but he was on the ground and couldn't hear over the compressor. The thing wouldn't leave, so I had to slowly back down the ladder, which spooked it and it ran into the attic. The homeowner found it funny until we told her it was probably living up there for weeks. We spent the next three hours with traps and flashlights trying to coax it out without getting bit. Job ran way over time, and I still had to seal that vent before dark. Never had a client offer to pay extra in homemade pie before, though.

Thought raccoons were cute until @lilywilliams and this story changed my mind.

Did the pie help with the cleanup mess?

The raccoon had some serious attitude, acting like you were the intruder. It was squatting in the attic for weeks without permission. At least the pie made up for the extra hassle.
