Dealing with a grumpy foreman made me rethink how I give feedback
I used to just nod and move on, but now I speak up calmly. It actually gets things done quicker.

On a bridge job last year, our foreman was always snapping. I started asking 'Can you walk me through that step?' instead of just taking it. It shifted his focus from blaming to teaching, and we cut rework by half. That calm question thing really turns a fight into a fix.

My buddy used to just eat the insults from his old site boss. One day he just said "Hey, that's not helpful, can you show me what you need?" The guy was so surprised he actually showed him. The whole job ran smoother after that. Turns out some people just expect you to push back a little.

Nah, I've seen that blow up bad. Some bosses just want a yes man and see pushback as disrespect. My cousin tried that "show me" line and his foreman just got meaner, started cutting his hours. Not every bully backs down, sometimes they double down.
