TIL our town's missing time capsule clue was in my neighbor's shed all along...

I was helping Mr. Jenkins clear out his shed last spring, and we found this rusty metal box tucked behind some paint cans... He swore it was just junk, but I remembered the old stories about a time capsule buried for the centennial. Back when I was a kid, everyone had a different idea where it was, and folks would argue about it at block parties. Now, you just look it up on your phone, but the records are wrong half the time. When we pried it open, it was full of 1970s stuff, not 1920s like the legend said, which made the whole search feel kinda silly. Mr. Jenkins just shrugged and said maybe the mystery was more fun than the answer. It got me thinking how we used to chase these tales together, but now we just google and move on... that shared guesswork is what I miss.
