Am I the only one who believes that operating heavy machinery has made me a more patient parent?
Dealing with a stubborn excavator all day really puts toddler tantrums into perspective.

That line about the stubborn excavator hits home. After a day of fighting with a backhoe, my kid's meltdown over the wrong color cup just seems like a minor hydraulic leak. At least the machine doesn't scream for chicken nuggets at 3 am.

@jessicahunt You just put that whole feeling into Perfect words. Machines might fight you, but they lack the Special Drama of a tiny human. Give me a broken hydraulic line over a toddler tantrum any day.

You can fix a machine with a manual and the right part. Kids run on some weird logic you can't look up, and the tired hits different, like your brain's been wrung out. That backhoe just makes your arms hurt.
