Felt my running pace shift instantly after a weird deja vu moment

I was jogging my usual route when everything looked familiar in a strange way for a second. Suddenly, my legs moved faster without any extra effort, like a switch flipped. Has your body ever done something automatic that defies normal limits?

Nah that "legs just clicked into faster rhythm" thing sounds like the opposite of muscle memory to me. If it was really automatic you wouldn't feel that weird rush of watching yourself do it, you'd just do it. Tbh it sounds more like your brain finally shut up for a second and let your body do what it was already capable of, not some stored program kicking in.

Yeah, that's your muscle memory just taking over for a second.

Honestly, @andrew299 is onto something with the muscle memory thing. Tbh I had a weird moment like that on my bike once, hitting a steep hill I usually struggle on. My legs just clicked into this faster rhythm out of nowhere, like they knew what to do before my brain did. It felt like a weird rush, almost like I was watching myself pedal. Didn't last long, but it was wild how the body can just take over.
