Honestly, I was about to scrap a whole batch of castings over some stubborn surface pinholes.
Tbh, a guy on shift said to try a light dusting of talc on the pattern before ramming up, and it worked like a charm on the next pour. Anyone got a different fix for green sand molds that keep pulling like that?

Oh nice, that talc trick is solid. I've also had luck with a super light spray of mold release on the pattern face, just a tiny bit though.

Tried the mold release thing once and it messed up my surface finish. I mean, maybe I used too much but it left a weird film. I just stick with talc now, way less hassle.
