Tried pairing Helvetica with Papyrus for a bakery menu and it looked like a ransom note

I was helping my friend with her new shop in Portland and she insisted on using Papyrus for the headings because it felt 'artisanal'. I showed her a mockup with Helvetica for the prices and it was a total mess, the clean lines clashed hard with the rough edges. Switched the body to a simple Garamond and it instantly looked professional instead of chaotic. Has anyone else found a good partner for Papyrus that doesn't make a design feel like a joke?

So what did your friend think of the Garamond fix?

Oh man, @miles707, he said it looked like a font for a fancy restaurant menu now.

What did they expect? It's just a font change.
