How a local bakery's menu made me rethink script and serif combos

I always thought script and serif fonts would clash badly. Then I saw a bakery menu that blended them together. Honestly, it looked really clean and professional. Tbh, I was totally wrong about it. Ngl, I'm now trying this mix in my own designs.

Funny you should mention that, because I used to be dead set against mixing warm and cool colors in my home. I painted everything in safe, matching tones for years. Then my sister decorated her cafe with orange and blue walls, and it looked incredible. I had to admit I was wrong about color rules being so strict. Now I see that kind of mix everywhere, and it works when done right. It's like with your fonts, sometimes breaking the 'rules' just needs a good example to show how.

Wait, your sister painted a whole cafe orange and blue? That sounds like it could have been a total mess but I'm so glad it worked out. It's wild how seeing something in real life can change your mind when you've been stuck on a rule forever. I'm still too scared to try that in my own place but maybe I need to visit more cafes.
