A client in Phoenix called me out on my baseboard gaps

I was finishing up a glue-down vinyl job about two months ago, and the homeowner pointed at a corner where my baseboard had a visible 1/8 inch gap. He said, 'That's going to collect dust forever.' I used to think those tiny gaps were just part of the job, but he was right. Now I spend an extra 15 minutes per room with my coping saw and a sanding block to get those joints tight. It makes the whole install look way more professional. What's one small detail you changed after getting called on it?

Honestly those tiny gaps never bothered me, and @roberts.diana I'd rather have a clean caulk line than a perfect cope that nobody sees behind furniture.

Wait, you got called out for bad caulk lines? Who has the nerve to say that to someone's face? Tbh, I'd just stare at them and ask if they wanted to grab the tape and do it themselves. It's like getting roasted for how straight you cut your grass. Some people just need to chill.

Totally feel this. Got called out for sloppy caulk lines once and it stung lol. Started using painters tape on every single job after that. That extra five minutes makes the finish look so much cleaner, and clients actually notice the difference.
