I used to think those 'get rich quick' YouTube ads were just dumb, but after seeing my cousin lose $500 to a crypto scheme he saw in one, I get why people fall for it.

Same here, I always rolled my eyes at those ads. Seeing a friend get burned makes it way too real though.

But come on, is it ever that big of a deal? People get tricked by stuff online all the time. I get what the_harper is saying about it feeling more real, but most of these scams are just annoying, not life ruining. Your friend probably just lost a small deposit or something, right? It's a hassle, but not the end of the world. We all learn from small mistakes like that.
