Hot take: I finally switched from Mint to YNAB for my budget after 6 months of trying to make Mint work.

Honestly, Mint just felt like a tracker for my bad choices, but YNAB's 'give every dollar a job' thing actually forced me to plan ahead and I saved $400 last month, so has anyone else made a switch that actually stuck?

Switched to YNAB years ago and never looked back.

What if the real power is how it changes your view of money before you even spend it? I stopped seeing my bank balance as permission to buy things. Now I see it as a pile of jobs that need doing, and YNAB makes me give every dollar a job. It's less about tracking and more about making active choices with money you already have. That mental shift took me from being reactive to actually planning my life.

It's just a budget app, right?
