Used to throw all my sketch ideas into one messy notebook

Back in 2019 I had one spiral notebook where I crammed fabric swatches, pattern notes, and rough drawings all mixed together. It got impossible to find anything after about 3 months of that. Now I keep separate binders for each season - fall 2024 has its own book with clear page dividers. Has anyone else tried a system like this or do you just go digital with something like Procreate?

lol yeah I feel that pain so hard. My old sketchbook from 2018 was a total nightmare with random notes for like 3 different collections all jumbled together. I actually started doing something kind of similar where I keep a separate binder for each year but then within that I have sections for different seasons and even separate ones for fabric notes vs actual drawings. It honestly changed everything for me because now I can actually find my scribbles from spring 2023 without having to flip through 200 pages of unrelated stuff. The physical system just works better for my brain since I can flip back and forth between pages and spread everything out on my desk. Procreate is cool but I get distracted too easily with digital stuff and end up scrolling instead of designing lol.
