That $60 fabric tape measure I snapped in half on a rush job
I was cutting out a last minute dress pattern for a client's birthday party last Saturday and yanked my old fabric tape measure too hard. Snapped it clean in two right at the 10 inch mark. Had to finish the whole layout using a piece of string and a ruler because I didn't have a backup. Anyone else ever break a tape measure at the worst possible time and have to MacGyver their way through a project?

Ugh the MacGyver struggle is real. I once had my tape measure snap mid-project and ended up using a charging cable to mark out my seam allowances. Let me tell you, the fit on that sleeve was something else. It came out looking like the dress was having an existential crisis. At least your dress pattern probably turned out better than my weirdly proportioned disaster.
