Now my whole process starts with a Pinterest board I can build in 20 minutes on my phone, but I sometimes miss the tactile surprise of finding a perfect, forgotten editorial spread from 1998.

I started hitting up used bookstores for old magazines. The smell and the random finds bring back that feeling.

Totally get that. I found a stack of old fishing magazines from the 80s last month, the pages were all yellow and brittle. Pulled out a coupon for a lure company that hasn't existed for twenty years. It's like holding a little piece of time, you know? That specific old paper smell just does something a new book never can. What's the best random thing you've found tucked in the pages so far?
