Finally got the collar right on my denim jacket after two tries
First I tried a flat, stiff interfacing and it looked boxy... then I switched to a lighter, woven one and the collar just sits so much better now. Anyone have a favorite interfacing for structured pieces?

Ever think you needed heavy interfacing for structure? I used to, but a lighter woven type changed my mind completely. It gives shape without that stiff cardboard feel.

Sometimes you really do need that heavy stuff for a proper stand-up collar... a woven one can still be too floppy for the look I want. It just depends on the jacket.

Wait, you're saying a woven is better than heavy stuff for stand-up collars? That's like saying flip-flops are fine for a snowstorm. I binded a moto jacket collar with a medium weight woven once. Looked like it had a bad perm by the end of the day. Flopped right over.
