Got a thumbs up from an old timer at the county fair

I was shoeing a draft horse at the fair last week, and this older farrier watched me work. He came over afterwards and said I did a clean job on a tough hoof. It really brightened my day because I've always looked up to his skill. We ended up chatting about tools for a bit. Small moments like that keep me going in this trade.

That's cool but why do we need validation from old guys anyway? Their way isn't the only right way to do things. Kinda seems like looking for a pat on the head lol.
