Discovered a trick for pulling nails from wet shoes without bending them

I started spraying a little WD-40 on the nail head before pulling and it’s saved me at least 10 minutes per shoe this winter, anyone else got a go-to for wet conditions?

I live in Portland where it rains half the year, so I've dealt with wet shoes a ton. The real trick nobody talks about is heating the nail head with a lighter for just a few seconds before you pull. The heat expands the metal just enough to break the rust bond. Works way better than WD-40 in my experience, plus you don't have the smell. Have you tried that method at all?
