That time my front door color caused a mailbox argument...

I went with a sunny yellow for the door... and the guy across the street hated it. We got into this silly debate while checking our mail. Ever have a simple change cause neighbor drama?

Oh, the sunny yellow door debate. Been there. My advice is to check your homeowner association rules first, if you have one. Sometimes there's a list of approved colors. If not, maybe bring the paint chip out to the mailbox next time and joke about how it matches the daffodils. Takes the edge off.

Paint choices really do show where people draw their imaginary property lines. It's your door, your call, and that's the end of it. Hope he gets used to the sunshine.

Did he give a real reason for hating the yellow, or was it just one of those knee-jerk reactions? These fights often stem from a sense of ownership over the street's look. It's wild how a gallon of paint can reveal so much about neighborly tensions.
