My neighbor painted his house a color that makes it look like a giant pumpkin

He went with this bright orange shade, said it was 'sunset glow' from the hardware store, but now the whole street calls it the pumpkin house. I tried to gently suggest a trim color to tone it down, but he just added dark green shutters, which honestly made it worse. Does anyone know a good way to talk to someone about a paint choice that's, well, a lot?

Try living next to a house painted the color of a mustard stain. My neighbor's place looks like it belongs on a hot dog. At least a pumpkin is festive.

Mustard stain colored house? You have got to be kidding me. That is next level bad. I would lose my mind if I had to look at that every single day. At least you can put out a pumpkin for a few weeks and call it decoration, but that mustard mess is a year round eyesore. Your neighbor must really hate curb appeal or just enjoys watching the rest of the block suffer. I almost feel bad for you but then I remember you're stuck with that nonsense and I'm just grateful I don't have to see it.

Honestly, the dark green shutters just locked in the pumpkin theme for good, didn't it? Maybe @the_harper has a point about festive being better than a condiment, but that's a pretty low bar. The real question is, do you even say anything after someone doubles down like that? At this stage, he probably knows exactly what he's done and just doesn't care.
