Vent: My neighbor's new paver patio is already sinking in the corners.

They didn't compact the base gravel enough before laying the sand. I watched them do it in one afternoon, and we get serious freeze-thaw cycles here in Denver. Has anyone else had to fix a sunken patio after just one season?

That sinking feeling is the worst! Saw the same thing happen to a friend's walkway. They tried just adding more sand on top, but it just washed out again after the next big rain. The real fix is pulling up those pavers, tamping down a proper gravel base, and starting over. It's a huge pain, but doing it half way just means doing the job twice.

Yep, that quick fix just kicks the can down the road.

Wait, they just threw more sand on top of a failing walkway and called it a day? That's like putting a bandaid on a broken leg and acting surprised when it doesn't hold. I bet they felt real clever until the first storm hit and all that sand was halfway down the driveway.
