My client's persistent redness cleared up after I switched to a cold mist steamer
I was treating a client with rosacea who always got super red after steaming. I tried a cold mist steamer for the first time last week, and the difference was huge, no flare-up at all. Has anyone else found cold steam works better for sensitive skin types?

Totally, I had the same result with my sensitive clients. The cold mist is a game changer for avoiding that angry flush.

But that cold mist can actually make some skin types even more reactive in the long run. It shocks the surface and tightens everything up, which just traps heat underneath. I've seen it lead to more redness once the initial cool feeling wears off.

My girlfriend does the same thing with cold water on her face after workouts and swears it calms her skin down way better than anything warm ever did. It makes me wonder if we all just default to warm or hot treatments when sometimes the opposite works better.
