Had a bride's foundation oxidize orange during her reception photoshoot

I was working a wedding in San Diego last June, and about 2 hours after I finished the bride's makeup, she came back to me in tears saying her face looked orange in every photo. Turns out the high-end foundation I used had a notorious oxidation problem in direct sunlight, but I never tested it outside the studio. The photographer showed me the shots and it was bad, like pumpkin-level bad. I spent the next hour frantically fixing her makeup while the bridal party waited, and I felt terrible. Now I always do a quick sun test with any new foundation before using it on a bride, especially for outdoor weddings. Has anyone else run into a brand that oxidized worse than expected in natural light?

That's rough, man. It's funny how you can test things in perfect studio light and then real sunlight just ruins it. Makes you wonder how many other everyday products we use are secretly failing us outside.

Wait, they don't test their stuff in actual sunlight first? That's crazy!
