A client with rosacea in Denver had a great result after I changed my approach to calming masks.
I've been mixing my own calming mask with colloidal oatmeal and aloe for a while, but it was just okay. Last week, I added a half teaspoon of raw honey from a local farm to the mix for a client with persistent redness. Her skin looked way less inflamed the next day, which I didn't expect at all. Has anyone else found honey to be a good add-in for sensitive skin routines?

Noticed the same thing with my own skin last winter... started putting a tiny bit of raw honey on dry patches before my moisturizer. It's like the simplest stuff from the kitchen sometimes works better than the fancy products, you know? Makes me wonder what other basic ingredients we're all overlooking.

Yeah, raw honey is a total game changer for that kind of irritation. I have pretty reactive skin myself and started using a thin layer of manuka honey as a wash-off mask a couple times a week. It doesn't fix everything, but the redness calms down a lot faster than it used to.

Oh man, I did the same thing with some local raw honey last year. My skin felt way less tight and angry after just a couple tries. It's not magic, but it definitely helps take the edge off.
