The dumbest fix that saved a 3 hour service call

Had an old MCE elevator in a building downtown that kept throwing a door zone fault every 10th run or so. Spent two afternoons checking door contacts, limit switches, wiring, everything looked fine. Finally got annoyed and swapped the door zone magnet out of pure spite even though it tested fine. Problem went away completely. I guess magnets can get weak or something even when they still read correct on a meter.

Weak magnets can definitely pass a meter test but still fail under vibration, it's a sneaky thing.

Noticed the same thing with fridge magnets that look fine but won't hold anything anymore lol.
