PSA: A hotel job in Vegas made me rethink my approach to door zone adjustments.
Their main bank had a constant 1/8 inch misalignment causing callbacks, so I started checking the sill rollers first every time. Anyone else run into a specific fix that became your new standard procedure?

That "check the sill rollers first" idea is a good one. My buddy had a similar thing with a chain of office buildings where the bottom rail was always packed with dust from the parking lot. He started vacuuming that track as step one and his callbacks dropped way off.

Yeah, my cousin does maintenance for a bunch of rental units and had the exact same headache. Tenants kept saying their sliding doors were stuck, and he'd go out to replace rollers or adjust hangers. Turns out the tracks were just full of sand from the beach nearby. Now he carries a little brush and a shop vac in his truck and cleans the track before he even touches the door. Saves him a ton of time and the owners money on parts. Makes you wonder how many "broken" things just need a good clean.

Grab a can of compressed air too, that's what I do. Works good for getting the fine grit out of those little corners where a vacuum can't reach. @emmar75 mentioned the brush and shop vac setup, that's solid but sometimes you need to blast the crap out from under the threshold where the rollers sit. I've seen guys skip that and wonder why the door still drags a week later. Always worth the extra few seconds to hit it with air before you declare the rollers shot.
