Guess those raccoons were just trying to earn their keep as unofficial maintenance crew. They probably thought the hoistway was a perfect spot to set up home. Now you have to tell them the free ride is over with some serious cleaning. Bet they left behind more than just some footprints. At least they gave you the push you needed to start.

Heard raccoons cause big problems in buildings. They tear up insulation and wiring for nests. Their droppings can carry diseases too. Getting rid of them takes real work. But at least it makes you deal with the mess.
