I dropped $600 on a fancy diagnostic tool and it barely helped

Everyone in the shop was telling me to get the new handheld controller analyzer for troubleshooting elevator faults. I shelled out $600 for it after a job in Charlotte where I was stuck on a door lock issue for three hours. Turns out half the readings it gives are just guesses, and I still had to pull out my old multimeter to catch the real problem. That thing is now sitting in my truck collecting dust. Any of you guys ever waste cash on a tool that just added more confusion?

Bought a $400 oscilloscope once just to watch TV shows on it.

Sounds like a $600 way to find out you still need the $15 tool lol.
