Got called out for a stuck car in a 15-story building downtown

It was a Friday afternoon in the city center, and the car was stuck between floors 8 and 9. The main controller board had a fried relay, which I didn't have on my truck. Had to call the supplier for an emergency part, which took two hours to arrive. Ended up bypassing the relay temporarily with a jumper wire just to get the car to the nearest landing so people could get out. Felt like a hack job, but the building manager was breathing down my neck. What's your go-to move when you're stuck waiting on a part and need to get a car moving safely?

Keep a few common relays and a roll of wire in the truck for exactly that kind of hack.
