Changed my tune on using a digital inclinometer for guide rail alignment
My lead, Frank, kept pushing me to use his old-school water level for the rails on a 15-story job in downtown Phoenix, saying the digital stuff was just a gimmick. I finally borrowed a co-worker's digital inclinometer last month and got the rails within 0.02 degrees of plumb in half the time. Anyone else find a new tool that made an old task way easier?

Ever try a laser level for long pipe runs? I used to fight with string lines all day, but a decent laser got everything straight and level in one pass. It's one of those things you don't miss until you've tried the new way.

Laser levels are a total game changer for that kind of work. I borrowed one from a buddy on a big fencing project and saved hours of hassle. You really can't go back to the old way once you've used one.

My buddy Mike was still using a chalk line for deck joists. I lent him my laser level last summer and he finished two days early. He bought his own the next week.
