Blew $180 on a digital level that lied to me for 6 months

Spent 180 bucks on a fancy digital level that was reading 0.2 degrees off the whole time, screwed up a bank of 4 elevators in a downtown office building. Boss caught it with a $30 bubble level and now I'm out the cost of a service call and a new tool. Anybody else had a digital tool straight up lie to them?

Oh man that sucks, I've been there. First thing I'd say is check if that digital level has a calibration mode, a lot of them do but people never read the manual lol. Second, always cross check your digital stuff against a known good bubble level before you trust it on something important, especially after it gets knocked around in a toolbox. That 30 dollar bubble level probably saved your boss way more than 180 in the long run.

Lol @fiona_lewis37 you're mostly right but the bubble level was actually 45 bucks, not 30. Still cheap insurance compared to that digital one though!
