Stripped screw on a laptop hinge took me 2 hours to fix yesterday

I spent way too long trying to drill out a stripped phillips head on an HP hinge bracket before I just grabbed some superglue and a flathead. Has anyone else got a go-to trick for these tiny stripped screws?

Used to swear by rubber bands but glue is way smarter.

My buddy Mark tried rubber bands on his toolbox drawer pulls last year and let me tell you, they snapped off in about two weeks flat. Glue seems like the obvious choice now that I think about it, but it took me six busted bands to figure that out. Are we really this slow to learn what works or is it just me? I swear half my garage projects are just me trying to avoid buying the one dollar tube of adhesive. Maybe we all just like watching things fall apart and calling it character building.
