My neighbor's laptop charging drama ended with a simple DC jack tweak

If a laptop won't charge, try reseating the DC jack first, since loose connections are often the problem.

Man I've been there so many times, it's crazy how often that little connector just works itself loose. I've had friends ready to buy whole new laptops over what was basically a two minute fix. There's nothing worse than that sinking feeling when the charger light just won't come on, and then the relief when you wiggle it just right. Always worth checking the simple stuff before you panic.

Honestly find dead batteries way more often than loose ports.
