That freezer trick is a wild fix for a flickering screen. Did you just wrap it in a towel or put it straight in? I'm curious what part actually gets cold enough to temporarily work again.

I mean I get why people say it's a temporary band-aid but honestly some of those old monitors just have cold solder joints that need a little nudge to work again. If it keeps working for months after that, is it really just a temporary fix? Did you at least let it sit out a few minutes before plugging it back in?

Honestly I saw a whole thread about this once. The cold can make bad solder joints contract and reconnect for a bit. It's not a real fix, just a last ditch thing before something dies for good. You're basically shocking the parts back into place until they heat up and break again. I'd back up your stuff if you try it, lmao. It's a total gamble.
