Was dead set on using Wagos for everything until a master sparky set me straight

Old timer named Gary on a job in Phoenix told me Wagos are fine for lights and outlets but I was an idiot using them on a 50 amp oven circuit. He showed me the burn marks on a failed one he kept in his truck from a similar install. Switched to wire nuts and torque screwdriver for that oven and the connection felt way more solid. Has anyone else had a Wago fail on a high draw circuit or was that guy just paranoid?

Torque specs on terminals matter way more than which connector you use. Seen plenty of burnt wire nuts too from guys who just crank till their wrist gives out.

Don't you think torque on a Wago is just chasing a problem the connector itself creates for high draw loads?
