Warning: My nephew grabbed a tool from my live work bag.
He thought it was a toy and reached right in. I've started keeping my gear locked up when family visits.

Locking up your gear is smart after that scare. But "live work bag" makes me wonder, was it just sitting out where kids could reach it? Do you normally keep it somewhere secure, or was this a one-time thing?

I read a local news story last month about a similar incident. A child found a live wire cutter in a garage and got a nasty shock. The article stressed how important it is to store dangerous tools out of sight and reach. It made me double-check my own storage habits.

See this all the time with people who don't have kids. They get careless. @wendysmith is right to check their own setup. My neighbor's a mechanic, leaves his toolbox open on the driveway. His niece almost grabbed a razor blade last summer. It's pure luck nothing worse has happened.
